How Many Nez Perce kids?
5 little Nez Perce kids,
Playing in the streams and woods,
Exploring the world all around.
1 left and ran back home
Where he was safe and warm.
Then there were 4 Nez Perce kids.

4 little Nez Perce kids
Playing the Deer Hoof Game
Trying to sharpen up their aim.
1 left and ran back home
Where he was safe and warm
Then there were 3 Nez Perce kids.

3 little Nez Perce kids
Playing with their stick horses
Imagining that they were a warrior.
1 left and ran back home
Where she was safe and warm
then there were 2 Nez Perce kids.

2 little Nez Perce kids
Playing with the village dogs
Who would protect them to the end.
1 left and ran back home
Where she was safe and warm
then there was 1 Nez Perce kid.

1 lonely Nez Perce kid
Playing with her little doll
Loving her just like her mother did.
She called out to kids
Some back and play with me...
Now there are 5 Nez Perce kids!
